I have nothing to add that will help. I haven't gotten a speeding ticket in over 12 years.

I got popped doing 142 mph over I-90 on my way to Ellensberg.
Bike gone!!, Traffic safety course ( I was already a graduate of Keith Code's superbike school) Alot of $ (over 5k) and court hearings to get my ride back.

I was stupid and payed for it, although the guy in the mid 80's vette ate my dust till smokeys radio caught up to me.
I now ride my 00' Springer softail and can cruise all day at 80 mph and the 5-0 don't give me a second glance.
142 over? why did you stop? you could have easily gotten off at the next or second exit and found somewhere to hide before the cop even got going

If you are a cop reading this, then I hope you are not the lazy type that won't go find some real work to do.

An officers job is to put his life in jeopardy to save someone he has never even met.
You should be thankful. Yes, there are bad ones out there but they are not the majority.

Of course I have a motorcycle endorsement. I have been riding bikes for years. I easily could have just left the cop in my dust if I wanted to. it wouldnt have been the first time. But I felt I should stop and sometimes they give you a warning. And its very easy at 5:30am on 75 to go 93mph on a bike that can top out at 167mph. I think his radar was off actually. I think I was doing over a 100mph most of the way up to meet everyone in sherman. The parts of Arkansas we were riding in have no cops. When we are riding out there the last thing I am worrying abotu is a cop. I am more worried about not falling off the mountain and keeping the bike wheels down. I dont want to pay the $264. I think that if its 5:30am and not a car in sight you should be able to ride at 100mph on a vehicle that was designed to go well over 100mph.

Just wait until your bill comes in the next time you want to renew your insurance.

I would suggest before spouting off mundane droolings that you get your facts straight. The cops that are giving traffic tickets are not the cops who's job it is to go out and hunt the criminals, so while you are getting your ticket there are a bunch of DETECTIVES and patrol units assigned the task of actively persuing criminal activity.

Care to take a guess at how many simple traffic stops turn into serious drug busts and turn up criminals with outstanding warrants??

While looked down on by most of John Q Public, traffic officers do preform a necessary and vital role to the safety of everyone. How would you feel if all the cops that were working traffic stopped giving tickets and only went after drunks, then one day your wife...well you are probably still in high school so the girl you are in love with was pulling out of her street at night and got T-boned by a guy doing 120 in a 40 with his headlights burnt out, no insurance, and driving on a suspended license. Yes I know this could easily happen even with the traffic cops out there but if everyone knew that they could get away with things like that there would be alot more of them doing it, and in turn the chances of it happening would increase exponentially.

Move to Germany if you feel that way. That's not permitted here.

You got to pay to play.
Exactly. Pay up, you lost the roll of the dice this time.

I'll probably pay it. Its only $264. And if I take the class no points on my license. The fine for insurance and inspection is going to be covered by my boss. This was a work related trip and everyone that went makes way more money than me so they offered to help me out. I went with two of my bosses and the president of the company I work for.

On a side note. If everyone fought their tickets it would back up the court system and cops wouldnt give stupid fines just to make money. But that wont ever happen because everyone just gives up and pays.

Why would you do that when you know you were breaking the law? I broke the law the other day. I tried to get out of it with the officer. I failed, I got the ticket. I took my ticket(s) straight to the court house and took care of it.

I dont agree with every law. Going 93 on a street bike at 5:30 am on a saturday in the middle of now where in Texas shouldnt be considered a crime. Most tickets are just ways to generate revenue and not for safety. I could ride at 93 with one hand while sitting on my tank and smoking a cigarette.

Take it up with the Mayor or Governor than .. Regardless it is a LAW that is on the book, whether or not you agree with it. Holding a license you agree that you will abide by all laws or pay the penalty(s). Tickets do create a revenue for the PD but without them you'd be paying an increase in taxes. Choose your poison.
