Growing up...my mom always put a can of ranch style beans in her chili...now, my wife likes it with beans also. I will put beans in chili for her.. I like mine without but with cornbread. if you want beans...make a pot of beans..if you want chili, leave the beans out,..

I've never seen caserole in a 3 gallon pot. Just because you add beans don't make it a casserole. Caseroles are baked in a pan in the oven. It's chili..... with beans.

Just because you add beans, you no longer have chili. You have something else. Chili with bean soup, a casserole, what ever you want to call it. If you have a chocolate cake and you put beans on top of it, you no longer have chocolate cake, you have a chocolate cake with beans. Two different things. Either can be good to someone, just takes the required palate.

Go to the store, look at the cans of Wolf Brand chili. Some will say chili, some will say chili with beans. Nowhere will you see chili minus the beans. Chili is chili.

If you take a turd and put beans on it... it is still a turd. Adding beans to a turd does not change the turd. It is just in addition to. It does not change the property of the original item. A hamburger is a hamburger no matter if you put lettuce, ketchup, relish, onions, sauer kraut, jalepenos, or even a TURD. No Turds were hurt in the writing of this statement.

You are so wrong! It is no longer just a turd, it would then be a turd and beans! You have chili, you have beans, put them together and you have chili and beans. Simple. If chilii included beans, what would you have if you left the beans out?

Here are some chili recipes. Some with beans, some without. But they are all called chili.

Yankee recipes. You can put anything you want to in chili, it's just no longer just chili. I've seen lots of chili with corn and potatoes in it, but it was called chili with corn and potatoes. Just because some Yankee calls his concoction chili, that dosen't make it "just" chili.

I will at least peek, if she sent Guido or his brother, I'm out the back door. If it's just her, I will have a tough decision to make. But, then, she may be meaner then Guido!

That wasn't Chili. That was red beans and rice. Now stop it, you are making me miss home. Gumbo, red beans and rice, dirty rice, crawfish etouffee... time to break out the cast iron pot and start a roux.
