You can use the same copy---it will ask you if you want to open another return. I use one copy to do mine, my daughter's and my son's.

I have a ?...

I usually have done mine online through turbo tax. Is this the best way to do taxes? Or would a pro know something I don't about claiming? Or should I buy a box at a store and use that?

Thanks... I'm a noob, I know...

I use taxslayer.com. have for the past couple years and it is pretty easy. It's not too expensive either...mine is free because I am in the military but it's like 10 bucks otherwise....

Either way is good. I just happen to like doing it on my PC. Just prefer the security of having it out on my PC rather than out on the internet. At least until I file.

I buy the CD-Rom---or rather it is shipped every year to me---and I buy it online---and then I load it---then Turbotax downloads more updates. I only use the internet when I send in my return.

I'm a CPA, used to do a lot tax returns when I was in public practice years ago. I work for a company now but still do returns for about 15 clients. I have used Turbo Tax for years and it's very good. If you have a complicated return, you just need to wait till all the bugs are found and you download the updates. I save the complicated ones till the end of February or later. I buy the box because I like having their CD and I don't use Paypal or credit card on the net, but you get the same program either way.

Math scares me, so I like doing my taxes on the 'puter. I do like the way Turbotax asks you questions in laymens' terms and then asks for the $ amount.

For someone like me, it has worked out very well.

I've used TT for years. Do my family and friends who ask. Pretty good program. Had to buy the business version this year because of my LLC but still cheaper than a CPA.

Yep, you actually have the choice, let it ask you questions or enter it where it goes, if you already know. So, it works for the professional as well as the novice.
