Bristol!

Today is the day to call your non racing friends and tell them to give NASCAR a chance.

The new car and new banking should put on a great show.

Go Matt. Go Ford.

The manufacturers are going to use their newest car, or thier best selling car.

There has been talk of the Busch series using a "pony car". Mustang, Camaro, Challenger. etc.

Mustangs do a TON of racing, just not in this series.

That may change in a few years when the NNS does a COT.

Edit: I guess I type too slow.

The races at Bristol are my favorites. I really need to go to one. I'd rather make the trip to Bristol than go to the Texas race, and TMS is 40 minutes from where I live.

They use 358 cubic inch engines.

There are 7 Ford guys. The 6,16,17,26,99 are Roush-Fenway Racing. The 28 & 38 are Yates Racing.

Not sure why there are so few Ford guys, I'd like to see more.

And, those 358 CID engines produce upwards of 750 horsepower WITHOUT using turbos or superchargers.

They are built to last just over 500 miles, and some don't even last that long!

Big camshaft grinds and huge carburaters. Oh, and there are 2 tracks that make them put restrictor plates between the carb and the intake manifold. This cuts the power way down on these 2 tracks....Talladega and Daytona.

Extremely good parts and very careful assembly.

And the new R07 engine that Chevrolet started using last year is probably closer to 850 HP, as are the rest of the manufacturers.
