Once there was a war

Once there was a war
The terrorists hit us, and hit us again. We didn't take it seriously. We felt it was a law enforcement issue. We grew complacent.
The terrorists planed and planed. One bright, sunny, warm autumn day in Boston, MA they boarded planes to carry out their plan. We didn't know at first what was happening to us. After watching the impacts, the fires, the people jumping to their death, the buildings burning, the buildings collapsing, we realized what had happened. We had become complacent.
We came together. We wanted vengence. We wanted, demanded that we bring the fight to the terrorists. We did.
We fought and fought. We died. Then we argued. We argued over why the terrorists hit us and hit us. We argued over how we should fight, then wether we should fight. We died and died as we fought.
We blame. We count the almost four thousand dead service men and women. We count the almost thirty thousand injured service men and women. We blame ourselves for these deaths.
We forget. We forget that there are still over one hundred fifty thousand service men and women fighting for us.
I wonder if we can stop being so selfish long enough to remember that there are young men and women who are in a situation that doesn't allow them to be complacent. It doesn't allow them to argue about what they are doing. It doesn't allow them to blame some one for everything bad. It doesn't allow them to forget that they are far from home at great risk.
I know that were all caught up in the trivial happenings of today. Why not take a minute to remember the people who would like to be home, but make sacrifices just so that they can do their job. It doesn't matter if you think we should bring them home or not. They are there now. Let's not forget that.

Wittom,
We see eye to eye on this issue, but you will not convince everyone. I love what you said, but as sad as it is, some will not care. They'll say they never asked our military to fight for them. They'll say they never asked anyone to die for them. Those same people are the one who've never had to fight for themselves.
As I've said before, the terrorists love our country's turmoil. It's their goal. We out number and out technology them. So they resort to their methods of turning us against each other. And many fall for it... All empires eventually fall, and our fall is coming...
He!!, just look at the two lead Democratic nominees... We're just making it easier for their jihad...

Its like Viet Nam all over again. Its become so political that Joe Average forgets about the sons and daughters dying for our freedoms. Our sons and daughters that are willing head to their deaths to defend people's right to hate them and spit on them.
I find it disgusting that those who hate GW take out that hatred on the front line soldiers who risk their lives everyday.
To all those soldiers abroad:
THANK YOU and COME HOME SAFELY!!!!!

I don’t think as many people as we are believed to think feel that selfish about it. I really blame the media. Look what’s happening now with the Race issue that popped up in the presidential election. Now it’s EVERYWHERE, every stupid little comment ever made by some back woods racist preaching to there 5 followings is plastered all over the news, internet, radio, with big huge headlines of, “Racism still alive”, “Client is a Racist”, “Obama” is a Racist”, “So and so said this” “America Divided”…. When you get drilled with this crap all day long people start believing it.
I haven’t forgotten what happened to us, and regardless of my own opinion on war, I’m thankful for all my family members that have served and are still serving and every other soldier, or should I say hero, which defends our country and freedoms. Don’t blame the soldier, blame the men and women who can’t agree and send them there.
