They are thick here this year! And those damn little gnats too! Those suckers don't just sting, they bite a chunk out of you!! I've been doing yard work for the last 3 days and I think I itch everywhere!! One of the bastards even bit my eyelid, I woke up this morning to my eye all swollen shut!!

I'm good, I've had the last 3 days off work and have been able to finish some much needed yard work!

WOW! That's not good! When we go down South to Sugar Land, we get eaten up by some HUGE mosquitoes. I tell them they are like hawks. They are even striped. Black and white. You can hear them across the room. I hate those blood suckers!

Sounds like the mosquitoes we had in Alaska, they were huge! Everyone called them the Alaska state bird...

It's funny, down on the coast, they have mosquitoes twice as big as ours, but our squirrels are twice as big as theirs. Maybe their mosquitoes stunt the squirrel's growth. Our squirrels are red and theirs are grey.

Our squirrels aren't very big either. You hear about people eating them but I have to say ours wouldn't make much of a meal! I suppose they have bigger ones somewhere but do they realize they're eating rodents?!! I'd be hard pressed to eat a furry tailed rat!

Ours get pretty big, and fat. pesky too. Thye like to taunt Maggie. Cling upside down on the tree truck and fuss at her till she charges. She has caught three, over the last 5 years.

Temps are in the low 90s now and low 70s at night. Going to uncover the pool tomorrow.

My dogs haven't ever caught one but my cat has. She's a pretty good hunter the only trouble is she always catches critters and brings them, still living, to the sliding glass door and wants inside! I thought about installing a kitty door for her so she could come and go as she pleased but I know I'd have all manner of wildlife running around inside my house if I did that!! My sisters cats do that, now she locks the cat door at night so she doesn't wake up to birds and mice in her living room!
