yeah I told mine I was looking for a F-350 regular cab 2 wheel drive with a 5.4 and a manual first thing she told me was NO it has to be 4 wheel drive, have crew cab and an auto,

plus she wants another V-10 due to the quietness and lack of smoke

My wife doesnt mind the noise and even pulling a hill at 2800 RPM with the 5er behind the truck we can have a normal conversation and mine only puffs a little smoke when I have a heavy load on it.

as everyone knows I'm a 7.3 fan, my old '96 would smoke like a tire fire

I think a procharged or turbo'd 6.8 would still pull just fine on the hills

But you only have smoke from 6 cylinders.

Mine did roll some coal last week with the bad injectors and the trailer behind it. I can imagine your old 7.3 would roll some serious coal. You are probably right about a charged 6.8 being able to do hill like a diesel.
