Most 292s were 1956-1957 engines, tho there may have been some in larger trucks in 1955.

my '63 and '64 came with 292's with 2 barrel carbs and 4 speed transmission from the factory

yep, forgot about that old Y block going on that long. I had a 1957 312 Thunderbird engine in a 54 Coupe. Good old motors.

a twin paxton supercharged 312 with an edelbrock triple duece intake and rams horns manifolds, would be cool...
