So Ian, I never heard, why are you in San Diego for work? Some special training or something?

ULA is closing the San Diego facility that produces the Atlas upper stage and bringing it to Decatur. So I'm out here, along with several others from Decatur, to learn as much as we can. Learning how to weld SS mostly.

Basically an all expenses paid vacation for 5 months at least.

Sweet. I have relatives of the Hispanic variety in SD.

Welding stainless is very fun, at least I think it is. I tig welded stainless for about 5 years or so.

Sounds like a good experience for you.

Is there any place you don't have relatives?

I've tig welded AL but never SS. It'll be fun and interesting and something else I can add to my resume.

Well my Mom's Uncle is retired Navy and that's where they (Mom's Aunt and Uncle) settled down. With both sides of my family into the equation my family is spread out coast to coast, and we have a smaller family, from my Grandparents generation on down.

Actually my Mom's Mom's side of the family (My Mom's Aunts and Uncles and my Grandma) are/were from south Texas.

Yes that type of welding is good on the resume, for a real job.

Well that certainly clears it up.

I may have to take a real job one, just padding the resume. I hope I never have to find one though. I wouldn't make it too long.

John needs dissed every now and then, it's what keeps him goin.

That is pretty sad. Been a lot of people in their senior year around here that have been killed too. Mostly from car wrecks.
