Sometimes some people don't know how to take advice. It's hard for them to completely understand reading something on a forum rather than actually talking to them in person about it. :o

Howdy. Woke up this morning and we had about 6" of snow on the ground. Left at 4:30 for work and got there around 5:45. Out of 148 people working in the shops, about 70% of them called in and said they could not make it. And most of them live about 5 minutes away. Hell, I live an hour away, and I made it. Monroe only got about 3". Bunch of sorry guys I think. They are the kind that they are there for a pay check and don't give a hoot about the company. Thats why their name is on the layoff list.

You look into it too much. Not your place to judge their reasoning why they can't get to work.

Just count your blessings you arrived safely.

Howdy Randall. I dont understand when people do crap like that and then they wonder why they were passed up for raises and promotions.

I see what you all are saying but it's really not worth worrying about something you have no control over.

That's why I'm in the union. The company can't fire me just on a whim, and I get raises no matter what I do. Or don't do.

I understand what you are saying. But, the roads here was not bad at all. The company I work for have deadlines on the jobs we are working on. If we don't meet those, we are charged $10,000 a day that it is late. They just use stuff like what the weather did last night as an excuse not to work. They rather stay at home and not make any money, but get made because we are not allowed to work OT at times so they can pay their bills. But it's not hurting me. I'll do what ever it takes to get the job done.

Oh I know. I've heard stories of them crossing the picket line in the 80's. Those union guys were ruthless!!!
