I think it just has one belt for everything. He said it went into limp mode. The tow truck driver took a A$$ chewing last night the way he was handling stepdads truck.

This is why I always ask for a flat bed if any of our vehicles have to get towed.

Sorry. It was a flat bed. The driver of it started to pull it onto the bed and the Harley was still in park. Stepdad said to put in nuetral but he still kelp draging it onto the bed. What a dipstick.

There's a number of different reasons why belts break........

Road debris.
Bad bearing in idlers/tensioner.
Misalligned pulleys.
Defective belt.
Loose pulley.
Bearings in blower.
Bent accessories brackets.

That's all I can think of now.

if the parking brake was on, the parking brake will hold before the park pawl will, and cause no damage to the trans

I understand that. I guess my point for my stepdad, is that , he just spent alot of money on new tires and the back ones was dragging across the concrete. He's very picky about his truck. I hope you see my point now. I would have been mad too. Just because it's not yours doesn't mean you can treat it the way you want to like the driver of the tow truck was.
