Yeah I think I'll pass... I see them do the swims like that near me on the news for charity... Don't even want to picture the Canadian version

I hope they don't wear speedos

No no, most wear costumes and what not. The hole is about 8 by 12-14 ft so you got a bit of a swim to get to the other side.

I'm really amazed at how well we have adapted to living in the East Texas woods. Even more isolated than I had anticipated. No TV (maybe someday), no paper, no radio yet, and no AT&T smartphone reception ( have to go about a mile to get a signal). Been reading, going to the BIL's and taking walks with Maggie. I have adjusted to the point that when we go to Burleson/Fort Worth on the weekends, I resent all the traffic and people.

Yep, I do like it. It's about 15 minutes to the closest "town", population 796. About 30 minutes to Tyler, population 100,000. Athens, where I work is about 11,000. The plant is on the edge of town and unless I need to, I don't go into Athens. We go to Tyler for major grocery shopping, Sam's and Walmart. Can go there for movies if we want, or a good restaurant. Out in the boonies, there is a little country store that cooks up a great burger and a pretty good Mexican restaurant. It takes me 30 minutes to get to work, about 22 miles. About 12 minutes of that is getting out of the woods to the main highway. I have to be very careful on the little narrow roads as there are many blind hills. It's like driving in a tunnel. Here's a sample, one of the more visable stretches. can be a little scary at dusk, or daybreak, or in the fog.

Most of the guys out here have a Kawasaki Mule with a shot gun strapped to it.
