Gas was 3.63 this morning. I passed a Prius this morning, never noticed before how sexy those things are.

My daily commute is about 52 miles round trip and the weekend trip is about 250 miles. All together, I drive about 1,000 miles per week. The cost is beginning to work on my mind, and my mind needs less work, not more.

It's not just the cost of gas though. Been thinking about getting a VW Jetta or Passat to save miles on the truck.

My wife has been grumbling about a new car and we are thinking about a TDI Golf because it gets such great fuel mileage.

My neighbor had an 02 jetta, diesel, that got 50 mpg on the highway. Peppy little rascal too. He sold it for $4500, then wished he hadn't.

Thats one of the reasons we are looking at the VW rather than getting another Ford because she refuses to drive a Focus and I refuse to buy another Chevy. We like the 500 and it gets good mileage for the size of the car but we would like to see something that gets over the 26mpg we are getting right now.

Just get one of the mini cabs like my father inlaw has burns hardly any gas and the valve cover/cup holder keeps your coffee warm on those cold mornings haha
