I do have the old shaft. Comparing it to the new one, everything is the same. The only thing I didn't see was which way the key way was positioned.

I'm going to get a new drill today and when I get home from work I'm going to try drilling the roll pin out and switch the shaft around.

 

 

Lay the old one out like your pic....then that should tell you which way it should go....
