I got a major sunburn on my back from washing my truck yesterday. I spent 45 mins bending over to scrub the bugs off the front end with my bare back to the sun. BAAAAD IDEA
That's why I was mine in the shade and then pull it into the shop to do the rest.
How the heck did you break an Estwing hatchet???? I have Estwing framing hammers that I absolutely abuse the crap out of and I have never broken one.
Yea, it welded up nice, but yea, I have a 28 oz framing, 20 oz finish, 20 oz masons and a little sledge 4 lbs I think. I beat the hell out them as well, that's what they're for right... I should of just thru a wedge behind it and opened up the log enough to get it out. The big pry bar was closer, so I jammed it under the handle close to the hatchet and took the framer and beat on the handle. Not the best way, I know, - In-fact, it's absolutely the wrong way
Shouldn't of broke like that IMO. It looked there was a couple air pockets in the cast were it broke, but I was able to bench grind it smooth and solid without removing that much material. So I'm not sure, the break may have just made it look that way. Still, -I'm innocent. It couldn't of been my fault
