Let's start over......
The hydro's about shot on mine now. It barely moves itself in reverse now. It's aggravating since I'm not just mowing my lawn but 6 others and it actually takes up a lot of time when you're just creeping in reverse. Plus the blood pressure starts to rise after a while Hoping I can get the rest of the season out of it then try to trade it in on a newer one. Wish I wouldn't have sold the other one earlier this year, nothing was wrong with it.

To this in a few hours.
Because of this.
And this.
By tuning it down you mean wiring the subs to run proper ohm loads, correct? I've got a 2000 watt amp but am only going to wire the 10" subs to run at around 600 watts, more efficient. I'm not about a lot of boom any more. The other small amp is going to run my front door components.
From what I understand though those 312's are worth keeping. This Wheel Horse I have is nice but one of the lower quality of the 500 series. Manual deck lift, non-rebuildable hydro, weaker tie rods ect. So once you start having major problems with it like the hydro it's done for. You can't even buy a new hydro for it since they're discontinued.
Thank's Matt, have you ever searched E-Bay for used parts? I am going to buy all used Deere parts to put it back together because new ones are N/A for these tractors. I have a couple more Deere tractors that I would like to add to my heard, I want to add a 318 and a 430 Diesel at some point.
I saw a used hydro on Ebay last year for cheap and thought I should buy it but I wasn't having any problems then so didn't jump on it. Now I can't find anything for it. This model was only made from 1988-1989 so there's not very many of them around. What I'd really like to get is a Wheel Horse 520. It has a rebuildable/maintainable hydro on it unlike mine but it also has an Onan engine so parts are scarce for it and what you can find is $$$. If I wasn't putting 20+ hours a week on it I wouldn't be so concerned. Might just have to get a reel mower
