Hmm Must be a donor part from another boat that had a EGR system on it. The new intake he got had no bung on it

 

They do really weird things to auto engines to make them work in boats. I am willing to bet that was the stock manifold off the 454 when they did the conversion on it from auto to marine and they welded the plug in because they were adding a blower to it. Auto to marine conversion motors are a really wierd breed and you never quite know what's been done to them to get them work for that application.

 

Yupp, I have a set of gauges in my truck and I had to unbolt the handle and the pod just slips over the existing A pillar cover and is held in place with four plastic push rivets.

I think I just swated a hornets nest in that EcoBoost VS 5.4L thread.........

 

Popped a heat exchanger on a cummins 250hp dedicated drive motor.....its cast....came apart in many pieces..........cores are corroded

 

Ouch!!! that sucks. I am guessing the coolant was never changed on it?

 

The thing is 40+ years old.....ya the coolant has been changed but its questionable about the water that they mixed it with....they have extremely hard water in this town...

 

They should have used distilled water in the mix then. I know when I do mine that's going to be mixed with the coolant.

Sounds to me as if you dropped it, broke it and now trying to blame it on the water!
