Doesn't sound like a good combination.

Hey Pam, how's your day going?

Craz, found a few but nothing close by. A decent reg cab 250 diesel is just about as hard to find as a reg cab shrt bed 150 V8.

It's slow! I'm just waiting on 5:00. I am so glad it's Friday. Don't think I could do another day this week.

Found this one for $9K. It's an 05 w/ 165k miles and looks like it was primarily used as a tow vehicle with a gooseneck setup. The high milage is shying me away from it. Found a few others with half the milage for a few thou more. I've got enough time and patience to wait it out a bit.

Looks clean but you know that truck has been worked HARD. If you're not scared of getting something with a few miles on it then go for a 7.3.

Haven't found any 7.3's I like. Most of those built reg cab shrt beds have salvaged titles. They'll get a low milage wrecked truck (scabs or CC), replace the cabs and interior (plus w/e damage). I don't want to do that for two reasons - 1. I don't want a salvage title 2. Be able to drive it around while looking for parts as I know it'll take me some time to do the entire transformation. I'd rather get a decent reg cab then upgrade the interior, front clip, frame/shrt bed, paint, suspension and wheels/tires.

My cousin has access to a salvage lic. and we could find a wrecked truck(s) to start from if I can't find anything worthwhile.

I wouldn't buy anything salvage unless I knew who was doing the work on it...

Depending on what you found and how serious it was maimed, starting with a wreck would be one way to build a unique and highly modified rig.
