I wonder if those buggars were charging me then? Maybe it's my 6.0 that I am thinking of that takes the odd number and I put 16 in it because I buy the oil in gallons.

I think it's because of the higher compression of the engine as well as the extra heat. Everyone I know runs the higher weight oil in there diesels and I have since switched to the 15-40 in mine all year round and I have no problems since I switched.

I assumed it was the heat, especially since they are using the oil to cool the intercooler. My friend with the 87 Grand Natl would carry a cooler of ice in his trunk and Ice that thing down after a 1/4 mile pass.
