Just put 8 in it, I think the 5.4 is the same way and even the dealer put 8 in my truck when I had it.

The 5.4 calls for 7 and that always put mine at the full mark.

The 6.2 just takes 6. They are all even numbers except for the 5.0.

I wonder if those buggars were charging me then? Maybe it's my 6.0 that I am thinking of that takes the odd number and I put 16 in it because I buy the oil in gallons.

The EB calls for 5-30, all others 5-20. Guess that sucker is loose from the factory. LOL

I think it's because of the higher compression of the engine as well as the extra heat. Everyone I know runs the higher weight oil in there diesels and I have since switched to the 15-40 in mine all year round and I have no problems since I switched.

You'd run into issues if 8 quarts were put in a 5.4.....

Not unless it had the remote oil filter.....

I assumed it was the heat, especially since they are using the oil to cool the intercooler. My friend with the 87 Grand Natl would carry a cooler of ice in his trunk and Ice that thing down after a 1/4 mile pass.
