The intercooler is way undersized from what they are trying to do with it. And it's an air to air intercooler.

I just found something else on the ecoboost.....
Back in march Ford introduced a new oil filter part number and the old one was done away with .....the new oil filter is larger and changes the oil change capacity requirements from 5.9 qts to 6.2 qts.....so really the EB is odd too not just the 5.0.....

Interesting little note about the capacity. I wonder if that had any contributions to the two trucks in the 09-11 section that have overheated.

I don't think I'm smart enough to own an EB. More glad all the time that I went with the 5.0. I know it's new engine as well, but just not a totally new concept in a truck.

Did you guyz also notice on the motors there's no more PS pump?
It's an electric assist rack and pinion now.....so that helps getting some more HP to the pavement......

I've read up on those intercoolers the last hour now and think its between altitude and them being real touchy on the amount of air they get.....so checking for bug debris is going to have to be daily when towing with one.....

Yep, the sales guys pointed that out to me. It feels a little funny at first, but after a little, I didn't notice it. The whole truck feels lower, longer and less nimble than my 2005. But it is so smooth and quiet going down the road. Also, you cannot believe how much more comfortable the seats and head rests are. I may pull the seat and take it in the house for a recliner each night.

Did I mention the engine sound when I nailed it at about 45 mph? An 18 wheeler was having trouble getting gping from a red light on a two lane. I didn't look to see my mph or the rpms, but sure did sound throaty and strong.
