I'd build the garage with an apartment and call it done.

 

Nice house, I am working on Joy (my wife) right now with that idea so far it's not going very well but I have more patients than she does so it will only be a matter of time. Find a 20-40 acres some where build a 40x80 shop with a nice apartment in it that can be used as a guest house when the main house is finally done.

 

So would I if I was single.....
