It might very well be the reason of 14 mpg's.

The guy is clueless about cars though. If I pull out the Dewalt drill and a hole saw and he does end up learning how to change his own oil, I don't want to see him cutting the firewall in his Sebring because he thinks that's the normal procedure for changing oil

I'm sure the right foot has nothing to do with it I just pulled a 2500lb trailer last Wednesday and got 14.5 mpg plus my right foot got kind of a heavy from red lights and stop signs a few times during that tank.

The '10 Escape filter is conviently located between the cat coming off the front manifold, the oil pan, and the AC compressor on the third side. Talk about tight spot with lots of heat

I have to be more "green" than you Pat. I have a 5.4, that equals more beer cans/bottles to recycle

I manually keep track of my mpgs... I drive like a grandma also. Only thing I can think of is winter vs. summer / tires wearing down, but that's a pretty decent difference.

EDIT: This only shows after I fixed my speedo after my lift and tires were on. Didn't think the other ones were needed. I was avg. 15-16 before.
1-15-11: 9.86

2-2-11: 9.42

2-20-11: 10.24

3-13-11: 10.33

4-5-11: 10.82

4-26-11: 7.90

5-20-11: 11.47

6-11-11: 11.15

7-16-11: 11.91

8-12-11: 10.7

8-30-11: 11.5

you should make an excel spreadsheet with the data, and then you can turn it into a graph which is a lot easier on the eyes then the numbers

(not currently up to date but you get the idea)
