You can get an assortment for around $5. I'd go that route so you have them for something else.

sometimes I think they do stuff like that because their bored and want to put on their fancy suits haha

Someone was just on our front porch snooping around, Joy my wife was coming in the back and they took off when she turned on the kitchen lights. I am not a happy camper at the moment and it looks like another night of very little sleep.

Thanks guys.

I am so pissed right now.....Who ever it was picked the wrong house to mess with. My wife is scared right now and I don't blame her one bit and that's really what has me so ticked off.

John, I have had the cotter oins out s times and reused them each time. There is no reason they and the locking nuts can't be reused.

I wonder why the Hayne's manual said to replace them then? Wierd, I'll pick up a set of cotter pins though just in case

The only time I replaced a cotter pin was when it broke.

Most people just cut the end off with a pair of dikes(diaganol cutters) and throw them away.
