Let's start over......
Yea, that sounds like a good one. What's going to be the hardest to replace or most costly, -the PTO ?

317's are one of the better models.....
I know, I am going to call the guy later today, I really want a 318 but I just can't seem to find one that's close to me that I can afford.

The early versions of the suffered from poor lubrication of the connecting rod journals when operated on hill sides. An improved KT17 Series II engine was used starting at engine specification number 24300 in 1982.

Fun stuff Dave, -I believe I have the 15 HP Kaw, LX178. Strong engine, but it likes to slip out of reverse every now and again. Or it doesn't go into to gear solidly. I don't think theirs an adjustment for that. I've had it apart a couple times, painted it once.
Sold my Ford 1910 diesel, I use to have 26 apple trees on 10 acres, I couldn't keep the stack on the Ford for to long. Purchased a Deere 116, then traded that for this LX. All of these tractors ran very well. I also built a log splitter to run off the Ford's PTO, back then.
I wouldn't mind finding another to fix up as well, -pretty cool, fun!
