I'd shoot 4 or 5 times before it even looked up to see what was going on. I know that's happened with deer.

One or two well placed shot's is all you need. You need to take a larger animal with a .22LR once to experience knowing that one shot is all you get so you better make it count.

I've gotten deer with one shot but I just get excited. Last year the only time I went hunting was on the last day. I had my Remington 270 and there was a deer 20-25 yards from where I was sitting. I shot 3 times before he finally ran away I don't care if I get anything or not. I just like going out a few times and shooting the gun.

I know, you just get an itch and before you now it the next sound you hear is the hammer falling on an empty chamber.

I wanted to get a pic of it to show how bad it was but I left it at the garage I worked on it and don't really want to drive 25 miles back to get it.

It turns out the drivers side tail pipe was only held onto the muffler by a little rusted piece of metal and that's where the majority of my exhaust leak was coming from. I still have a leak at the manifold but it's not bad at all. I'm going to see if my warranty covers it, I'm pretty sure it does and I only have about 6 or 7,000 miles left on it. I really don't want to tear the manifolds off of it. It was a PITA on my 96, it looks 10x worse to do on the 04.

I have about 60-70 miles on the muffler now and either I'm getting used to it or it's gotten a tad louder because I can hear a little rumble in it. Has to be at 2500+ RPM's though and since I very, very rarely go about 2100 RPM's I won't be hearing it too often
Oh it will get louder for sure... around 3-6k you'll really be about at full loudness... I have around 32k on mine but I have hi flows I do remember mine got quite louder around 1k and louder a few thousand after that. It's funny because I haven't heard a truck as loud as mine that sounds as good. At 2100+ it is so loud inside so I can only imagine outside, it vibrates your head which surprised me when it first happened

I didn't realize how nice quiet was until now. Mine wasn't really loud but it droned so bad, it sounded good but it got old after a while. Even so, if this muffler does louden up it probably won't be as bad since the sounds actually coming out of the pipes instead of right under the cab.

I'm thinking of going to the local exhaust shop and seeing how much they want for pipe. They ordered/installed the cat back on my old truck for a little over $300. That was about 5 years ago though. I want to get rid of these goofy looking pipes that's on it now Whoever put this exhaust system together needs to be beaten with it. There's 2 splices between the cats and the muffler, the pipes are about 6" short of the muffler and the drivers side pipe is 2.5" and the passenger side is 2 1/4"
