Our lakes and stock takes have got to see some significant run off pretty soon or things will get pretty desparate. We are still on water rationing in most of the state. Lake Palestine is about 2 miles from my Brownsboro house and we cross it when going to get groceries or to Tyler. It looks like a pasture. Has cows grazing on it. A few months ago, there were boats there, people fishing.

news said Lake Texoma is full of some algae or something, we can't use water from there anymore which really puts a bind on our water situation

It's zebra mussels. They clog everything up from piping to pumps, you name it. That's why they can't use Texoma's water. Luckily here we use a different source of water, only stage 1 restrictions.

Right , they really like pipes. PITA. I think they came from Europe, -somewhere over there, Russia maybe. Hitched a ride on those large ocean-going ships.

They get into ballast water, screw up those big ballast pumps,- plug ballast plumbing etc..

Those Ocean liners need ballast water to level the load. So after they load, they take in ballast. When they unload , HERE, ballast is discharged along with Zebra mussels.

It a big problem.

Stock the lakes with small mouth bass, crayfish, roach fish, and there's a couple of other species that can keep them under control....won't exterminate them though....
