I ordered the parts kit right from John Deere for the carb using the part number from the online parts catalog. This is the one that I bought and hopefully it's here tomorrow or Friday.

Yea..Unfortunately that is about where my references stop. Eh, maybe a few briggs and tecumseh's. I was the neighborhood kid everyone took their bikes and go karts to, to get fixed and tuned up. Somehow it's followed me my whole life, still fixing everyone's things. Haven't been around tractors much, nothing vintage anyway .

 

Nope......I had Linch.....I was working in a high security lock down facility.....no phones allowed and no leaving the premises....only at the start and end of the day.....

 

Morning. On vacation starting at 4pm today and I'm really looking forward to the time off.

 

Had a nice rain during the night and the leaves are really falling, out in the woods. The truck was covered in sweet gum and oak leaves, the bed was full. The roads getting out of the woods are only 1 1/2 lanes wide, so if you meet a vehicle, both have to go slow and pull over in the ditch. With all the leaves and pin needles on the black top, it was hard to see how far to pull over without getting in too much wet sand. Just part of life in the East Texas Piney Woods.

 

I stand corrected, mine was 22.06 for 398 miles on 20" wheels. Would have been 23+ on factory 16s tho

 

Well, if I had 14" on mine, I would have gotten 29.6 mpg.

With no brakes also.....

 

When you're going for gas mileage, you have to give up little things like brakes.

 

I remember back in the 60s when nearly all the cars had 14" wheels. The 15" ones seemed so big. Times change.
