New trucks are nice and smell good, till that payment comes due for next 60 months.

I'd keep yours, just UN-grandpa it a bit.

Morning. As much as it pains me to say this I really like fall mornings. The chill/crispness of the air, the smell, and the clear humidity free sunrises.

It's to the point where I need something newer. I've put a few grand into it the past few years and I can't keep doing that. I've got to take care of a few little things but I'm gonna list it soon. I've got a year of college left, with the money I've had to spend, it has been a monthly payment already. It'd be nice to have a warranty

John, you are actually money ahead to keep the truck you have and set money aside every payday to cover repairs that might come up. Yes it's nice to have a new vehicle but really look at what you're spending your money of repairs and I will bet most of them are considered wear items and won't be covered under warranty. I'm fixing mine because I'm money ahead to keep it and having to spend money on doing the mods I've already done all over again and I'm about to dump over 4k into it.

Heck we are even talking about doing in-frames on our heavy trucks or building glider kit trucks here at work and rebuilding the booms on all of our boom trucks because it's cheaper than buying another truck. The last time the phrases in-frame rebuild or glider kit were uttered in our offices was in the late 80's when our old Mack R model semi was getting tired.

I know what you mean Dave but I don't have anyone to trust that can do the work plus there are a few very expensive items that I don't want to replace. Engine will need guides, tensioners etc and I'm not doing that.

I really didn't need a new truck last year when I bought mine but glad I did because this one ought to last a long time sitting under the carport since I retired. Paid it off and just got the title last week.
