Proxs I'm assuming? I had the 14" Maggie it sounded since, too quiet for me but it give the HD a real nice growl for sure. The proxs is a real nice sounding muffler

they're not borla or magnaflow or bassani....

ya....I might be nuts but I found actual flow through mufflers with stainless mesh packing and fiberglass secondary packing....these are cheaper than borla, they're about the same as magnapacks.....I absolutely refuse to put glass packs on of any kind and I wasn't going to put just resonators on either.....ya I know I'm being picky....

should I just go the 18" route? cause the di/do I'm taking out is 20".....then should I just put the X-pipe in front of the mufflers or put it up where the pipes start to run together....remember I don't have a "y" pipe....it duals up until the cross in the muffler ....

this lighning catback is what I'm trying to copy....minus the tail pipes

That's true, they're round bodies so the 18's would work. The x should go where each bank meets

I think I read you find the area of confusion for the technical position but you don't have a crossover put in until then. You spray paint and look where it bubbles and that's where you put the cross over. Most seem to just go where each bank comes together

this is the way the Harley exhaust looks minus the headers....imagine a di/do muffler where the X-pipe is in this pic

I think I'm going to install the x-pipe as close as possible to the stock location of the removed muffler...imo

the best part is my version is going to be around $150 in parts and $100 in labor....a big difference from the ss catbacks that sell for $600-$900 not installed....
