Found plugs on ebay for $83. Are boots normally needed for the change?

If they've never been changed, I would. They develop small heat cracks over time and get a little brittle. Not a lot of money and good insurance.

Don't get too used to those things, they can be as bad as the original injury.

Good luck with the recovery!

Uggg Sarah's '10 Escape has been throwing throttle body codes for last couple weeks. Tried cleaning it to no avail. Nationally back ordered from Ford, and her car is just out of the 3/36 full warranty.

If you recall, same issue my mom had on her 2010 Fusion a couple years ago while on the highway.

Wouldnt be surprised if a class action gets started on this. Throttle body shouldnt fail at 38,000 miles

Nope. But new boots can help your coils last longer if your current boots are loosing spark through the walls. But you'd likely have a lowgrade misfire.

Darn the luck, Patrick. Otherwise she's been good to you all though I assume.

I think I'll just go ahead and replace the boots. No misfire at all. I do notice at a hard acceleration a little stumble but that may be the plugs. But I may be wrong.

Most likely, I have 32k on my second set. Hoping to switch to late 08 heads before if do them again

I'm about ready to switch out my second set of plugs for the third. It's running good but I have about 50,000 miles on them and really don't want to wait too long to change them out.

It it's running good, I would wait till about 80,000. I had 70,000 on the second set in my 2005 and it was still running great when I sold it.

Wifes sister lives in Maryland so we usually make a run up there every year or so. End up with a truckload of stuff to bring!
