I'm sick of taking care of this pool. If you can figure a way to drag it out of my back yard without damaging my wife's landscaping, you can have it.

UOA = used oil analysis

I have seen my share of the ecoboost but none on the 5.0 Just curious how they are holding up to 5000 mile oil changes with 8 freakin quarts of oil. I want to believe I can safely go 7500 miles with that much oil. I know do my own UOA and see for myself. Just curious about others is all.

I just cant make myself go much over the 5000 limit. Plus, this was recommended by two dealerships. I know they may be trying to increase business, but mine uses almost a quart in 5500 or so miles, so I change it. I drive where there is a lot of dust, just makes me feel better. I would not change regardless of what my or anyone elses UOA said.

I'll be doing a UOA around Christmas which would put me between 5000-7500 miles on the change, just changed over to full synthetic last weekend at 37k miles. 5k-7.5k will probably be the interval I stick with, along with staying with Valvoline Synpower and a MC filter.

I might send in a sample of the used oil from this past weekend just for the hell of it. It was whatever oil Carmax had in there and it was in there for 2800 miles.

I hear ya Jim. I wouldn't even do 5000 until this year but after seeing all the talk of wasted oil changes I have considered extending. I'm so torn on what to do.

That's scary... I understand if the tests said it is OK and healthy the by all means but I don't think I could bring myself do it that. 5000 is what I do on mine. I use around a quart every chance from what I seem to add every so often
