I made an appointment on Monday to have an alignment done on my truck today. Ever since my "incident" in April it's been slightly pulling to the right.....hardly enough to even notice. They got it in the shop today and put it up on the rack. I'll admit, I haven't been checking over the old girl lately as often as I should but was kind of embarrassed when I found out my rack is shot, the power steering cooler was leaking and the inner tie rod ends were loose.
The inner tie rod ends were loose so I told the tech. to replace them before the alignment. After he replaced them there was still about 1.5"-2" of movement coming from the rack...so not being able to replace the rack right now I had them hold off on the alignment. The funny part is, driving it you wouldn't know the rack was bad. It's solid and tight going down the road. Actually I didn't even notice the tie rod ends were loose either.
Before too long this 2004 will be like a 2014
