Size: 86.9 KB Ran across some old Polaroids of my 1966 GTO taken in early 1967. Taking a break from school at the car wash in Thibodaux, La. I ordered this car in April 1966 and took delivery in May...389 with tri-power and a close ratio 4-speed with 3.90 gearing. Car shown with Mickey Thompson wheels and Casler cheater slick's on the rear. Great to have one of the original muscle car's at the time...they weren't even called that back then. Got too many ticket's so I was forced to sell it in 1969...I put 24K miles on it the first year and never left the state!

Those were great times. My best friend in college had a 64 GTO and I had a 65 Mustang.

I stayed out of college one year and went to work to buy that car and pay my insurance. I had a 1962 Impala that I sold to help pay for it too...wish I could have kept both of those car's.

Here's a pic of the '62 Impala right before I sold it. Deep chrome reverse wheels I bought in November 1965...whitewalls were the style back then!Name: 35a106b1-7e60-4cca-8c77-65dfc6733472_zps85f64928.jpg

Was thinking about the plugs, drove to midland and back today pulled up at the house left it running and just the normal tick from the injectors. Wondering if i got some bad gas, or wasnt actual 91 octane.

Atleast shes back up and sounding decent. get me to the 15 model
