Made it up to 90 on my way home from work yesterday, and that was when the sun was going down! Feels like July lately

Wife and I have made a huge decision. We had dreams of building a house on the farm in Brownsboro, and still do, but we have never been able to start construction. Always something stopped us, and now there is no family left in the area. We have come to realize how isolated we would be and as we get older, that is not so much a good thing. We just have a great love for that place and the woods surrounding it.

Our daughter and family live in the country about 18 miles from Sugar Land on 7 acres. There is a heavily wooded tract next door, 8 acres, that is available to us. Our plan is to build a home there so we can enjoy the grandkids as they finish growing up and we will have family next to us. Just a 200 yard walk away. Don't relish the idea of moving to hurricane country or giving up the dream of the farm, but the positives offset that. We may back out, but the plan is to get started pretty quickly if all the legal aspects of the property pan out.

Yep! I love it. Well, the warmth, not so much the stickiness.

That's great news, Jim. Sounds like a good decision to me. You'll still have woods and plenty of acreage, and be close to family. Trading an old dream for a new one.

Yep, it's just hard to imagine being 200 hundred yards from the grandkids instead of 4 1/2 hours. Will get to attend all their activities instead of just hearing about them. Our oldest, the grandson will be 15 next month and the youngest granddaughter just had 8th birthday. All four are very active in sports(football and golf), horse competitions, 4 H showing lambs, fishing and camping. It will be fun.

I quickly read your post and thought you meant 90mph for a second. Started to tell you that Eb will run alot faster than that.

Half throttle cruising.. If you tried this with a 5.0 it would run out of oil and lose a couple of cylinder's in the process

Yep, but most of that oil would end up on the EBs windshield.

It's always nice to be close to the grandkid's...our youngest daughter lived in Broken Arrow, Ok. for year's and that was a pain going up there to see our first grandchild. She got divorced and remarried and now they live about 3 miles away! The oldest daughter lives about 15 miles away so that's nice too. 3 grandkid's now and they always keep us busy! We have a family fishing camp at Grand Isle so we all go down there on the weekend's during the summer. One of the wife's sister's lives in the Houston area so we take a ride over there at least once a year. Only a 6 hr drive from here.

Sounds like a good decision Jim. Do you have any pictures of the farm you have? Curious to see the landscape.

It sounds like a good idea Jim. Would you still keep the house in Burleson?
