Thats why the rams get good fuel mileage. 8 speeds with those rearends and cylinder deactivation mode. I would also think since they have the 8 speed trans then they can go with the lower gear, I bet if you were to look for a tradesman model 4x4 that still has the 6 speed you would find they come up to a 3.92 rear end (maybe even higher)

Yeah this one I was looking at online was a tradesman express. The tradesman express seems to be STX equivalent, however they have a few more premium options. This one was a new 14, so probably had the 8 speed. I'm not planning on getting one (I wouldn't choose one over my Ford), but I can't help but like them.

Almost all the new 14 tradesman's here are the 6 speeds but on the build and price you can add the 8 speed for another $500. If you get the 6 speed then the options for the rearend are 3.21 or 3.92.. If you get the 8 speed then your options are the 3.21 3.55 or 3.92 rearend.

 

4 days liking 20 months of ownership. Rolled over 45k this morning and have used a little over 2550 gallons of gas. Shes been used as a race car, towing machine (couple loads closing in on 3/4 ton territory) and everyday driver (most of its life) and still going strong except for the horrible warped rotors that damn near shake you to death when hitting the brakes. Maybe at the 50k mark i will buy some slotted rotors and good pads

 

And good cop magnet.....

2nd pic no clue what it weighed 2011 impala on car hauler cruise set at 78 with a 25mph headwind.

Thats one thing i cant understand with some of these EB owners, How the hell can you only get 12 or 13mpg running empty and i get the 12mpg pulling 6800lbs.

 

Quality and blends of gas vary so much across the United states it ain't even funny....imo

East coast gas seems to be the best, then the south, west coast and plains/ Midwest absolutely sux

My brother's father inlaw confirms this on his cross country adventure on his motorcycle....

Around here 95 percent of the gas station is Stripes and the truck doesn't run near as well. We have 1 Chevron and 1 Shell and I've seen as much as 2mpg difference between stripes and chevron/shell on 91 octane.
