Let's start over......
Rolled over the 40,000-mile mark with my old '97 Cavalier on the ride over to San Antonio from Houston this evening. I'm quite certain I have put more miles on it over the 6-months I have owned the car (it had around 31,500-miles on it when I bought it) than my Aunt did over the previous decade.....
I'll be curious to see how many miles I eventually get out of this car. Logic would say these things run pretty reliably up to around the 175,000-mile range, but I'm not sure how much the age of the vehicle will eventually affect this for me. If I made it that far I'd be pretty dang happy, since that would put me out another 6-7 years from now based on how many work miles I generally put on a vehicle in a given year.
Using the current IRS reimbursement rate of 56-cents per mile, that means this car would put a little over $75,000.00 of mileage money into my pocket -- not a bad return on investment for a $3000.00 car, even if I have to put a few repairs into it over the years! With any luck, this thing will be a "cash cow" that funds at least one more "fun" car for me to play with in retirement......

Motorcraft Sp534's.. Oreillys has them for 3 bucks a pop.. Ford is now recommending .028 on the gap.. I did mine at .030 and it runs great.
Good Luck on the Coils.. Mine were ON THERE.. Took me longer to get the coils off then it did the plugs.. Also on the driverside left on rear plug you have to pull that rubber insulation piece off and disconnect the connector on the HPFP to safely get to the plug.

Yeah I was afraid of that. The coils are always a pain. The ones on the Ram today were surprisingly cooperative. I'll just use some dielectric grease when I put them back on so hopefully it won't stick the next time. Hey, at least there's 2 less plugs to worry about
