The icey stuff is all South of the DFW area, thankfully. But those Southern Texans really don't have a clue about driving in it.

This cavalier is scary on the ice.. I tried twice last week to take it out and turned around and came back to get the truck..

Doesn't seem like the car has abs, touch the brakes and it just slides. Plus with these drivers i dont particularly feel like getting crushed like a soda can

A close friend of mine is head detailer for a prominent detail shop in town. I decided to pay him a visit with the truck today. Wash, clay bar, polish, and compound. Scratches from the forest last week are history.

What did they set you back for a job like that?

Sure was! It was bugging me every time I'd walk out to the truck. The scratches were self-inflicted, of course, but you still have to feel sorry for me

According to my buddy, everything done to my truck today would've run someone around $160. He did it for me for $80. He didn't charge me for the compound job, nor did he charge me for the interior detail, which I didn't even know he was going to do. Luckily he knows me well enough to know I hate Armor-All, so he was nice enough not to smear it all over the dashboard He also only rang it up as a 1 hour job, even though it took him 2 hours. Not too bad.

Thanks! I'm glad those scratches came out. I felt like I was finding a new one each day. Plus the truck needed some attention anyway.

Honestly I'm kind of ashamed to admit to you guys that I paid someone to do it instead of doing it myself, but at least I paid someone I know and trust to do it. I still do my own maintenance, but for some reason detailing just isn't as fun for me as it used to be.
