Started last fall when all of the forum was having issues...still something that's not fixed yet, this thread also has a problem with loading responses/replies

The key is making sure you have enough time to let the oil drain and allow all of the mechanical components to cool down to the point where you can get your arm up between the assemblies without burning yourself. You also have to work the filter in-and-out of the mounting area in a two step process, starting back by the catalytic converter and setting it down over the steering rack, and then reaching in from another location and grabbing it from that point to complete the job.
From this point forward I will only change the oil on this car when I have enough time to get the thing up on the stands and let it sit there draining for a few hours until everything is cool enough to touch, which shouldn't be a problem for me given all the spare vehicles I have sitting around this place.....
