Last oil change i changed to Mobil One Full Synthetic and this week i will hit the 5k mark and checked my oil life and its showing 62 percent. Maybe it does go off the oil and driving habits.

Think im still going to change it at the 5k mark though
Interesting. My 2008 F150 XLT doesn't have this option, but my wife's 2005 Escape does. It currently has 108K. I have always changed the oil at 5k with MC and I have always thought the indicator went off miles too. I never have paid close attention to it. I just reset it when I did the oil change.

Hmmm. My post number appears to be stuck on 199. It doesn't want me to go any further.

Coy it also goes on time the oil counter has been running, as in days/weeks/months time, not engine run time

We noticed that on my wife's we'd hit 10% remaining in 9 months time when she started driving less miles per week

Thanks PawPaw, yeah, probably not many elk in that part of the country. Not much snow either, we got about 3" more yesterday. Your pictures look a lot warmer than mine! I lived in the New Orleans area for 1 1/2 years. It was definitely an experience. Being a born and raised Northwesterner, the humidity about killed me! We spent lots of time on the canals with a small boat, I loved the trees covered in moss, so cool!
