It's a Yankee thing that has been forced on the South!

Poured down rain with thunder and lightning after midnight last night and then had another big round of storms go through around 3:00 in the morning. Since then it has been raining steady all day. I have a jobsite up in Austin with a wide open roof deck that I'm trying to dry out and save -- looking at the weather forecast for the next couple of days tells me that ain't going to be happening.....

Was also hoping for decent weather so I could "set the cruise and drive" on my trip over to Louisiana tomorrow, but now I'm thinking I'll be fighting the weather all the way. Between trying to fly through snow and ice in Dallas, dealing with below zero temperatures in Minnesota, and trying to drive in the rain down here in Houston, I haven't been able to catch a break with my business travel in about a month.....

The only good thing is that I've been racking up the business miles the last month or two -- at 57.5-cents per mile and with relatively cheap gas, I've been making some nice additions to my "next toy car fund" lately.....

My nine-year-old has been cooped-up in the house all day with this rain and is starting to bounce of the walls -- looks like I'm going to have to take him down to the play land at Mickey D's and burn-off some energy.....

He's got a 360 and would be on that godawful thing all day if we let him! I swear to God trying to keep a kid from throwing his life down the rat hole of gaming has got to be the most frustrating thing about being a modern parent.....

Stay after him and limit his game time or he will end up like Coy!

We never had games systems growing up. Mostly educational based PC games on windows 95 they were fun too.

Sister got an internship at Charlotte Motor Speedway this summer. She's been dying to go down there too. Seems like a real nice area.
