I've found the secret is to simply let the vehicle sit long enough while I'm draining the oil that all of the engine and driveline components return to room temperature. That way I can wind my scrawny arms in from underneath and get to the filter in a reasonable fashion. Cleaning the filter mating surface is kind of a crap shoot though, as I can't really see it while I am wiping it down -- I just have to locate it by feeling for the threads from below and then I wipe everything off as best I can....

Yeah -- it was gorgeous down here today with sunny skies and low humidity! It's not very often in this neck of the woods that you get temperatures in the mid-80's without a healthy dose of that Houston humidity!

I think i'm going to change the plugs tomorrow or tuesday. According to the sis in law it has never had them changed. figured with 158k it's time . Should be about a 10 minute job. All plugs are sitting right on the top of the engine with a plastic cover over them.

Yeah -- the ones on mine are ridiculously easy to get to as well! At 44,000 miles, I'm not due yet, but I'm thinking I'll do them a tad early (maybe at 70,000?) just because they'll be almost 20 years old by that time.

Atleast your's will make it to 20 years old. I know mine wont. 15k a year for 9 more years would be 135k plus the 158k on it.. 293k miles. Yea it's not going to happen.

If it keeps running as good as it does im going for the 200k mark then selling it for maybe 1000-1200. Only paid 1500 for it last year.

The best part is how you strategically walked around the donut so you don't get feet prints inside the circle. lol.

Actually Coy the engine will make it. The rest of the car will not. Like most chevrolet you will have to get rid of it I'm guessing because of electrical issues.
