I've toyed around with the idea of doing PTM bumpers with mine as well, but it's always a dilemma to change too much stuff on a truck you're trying to keep for posterity. I guess the good thing with this mod is that it's pretty easy to go back to chrome bumpers if you ever want to.
No these are the stock chrome bumpers. Talked to a few people here and there and they said if its done right it will be as good as the primed bumpers. Talked to Dewser also and he did his 5.0 this way and everything was fine for the time he had it.
I quizzed the ol boy as much as i could and it really seems like he knows what he is doing when it comes to this. Said he has done hundred's over the years and never had one come back. Which made me feel better.

Im leaving a little chrome on the truck ( C Clamps and Bars on the grille, Handles and Wheels) but will definitely not be going back to the chrome bumpers or surround. Also took off the running boards so no chrome there either

Never realized you could effectively paint chromed metal. If I do mine I'll probably spring for new bumpers and keep my factory chrome ones in case I ever want to go back to a 100% factory truck.

That would be a good idea since you have a 10 year old 3k? mile truck.

Getting Closer. He misunderstood me on the surround and thought i wanted to keep it chrome. So he has to pull it off again and spray that. Went buy this evening and its looks pretty darn good. Will look 100 times better after its washed and front bumper on

Think I will work till about noon and head to Burleson.

Got my second oil change last night. Dealer in Athens. They washed the truck too. They do that free everytime you come in for service.

That's unheard of around here. None of the dealerships do it. First time i had seen it done was when i was at Park Place Mercedes in Fort Worth. They did a great job too. Actually took time and dried it, wheels, tires and vacuumed.

Went out to get donuts for my wife yesterday morning to bring to her class as a special treat. I got three dozen glazed, and I noticed when they boxed them up they were still nice and warm. The only problem was that they were so warm all the icing melted off in the box and when she pulled them out at school that morning it was dripping out of the boxes! She said they were still good, but an awful mess......
