I had never heard of the breed, but you are correct. Very impressive looking dogs.

They are also called a Spanish Mastiff and were used in the Canary Islands to take down large game. Also used as war dogs by the Spanish Army for hundreds of years.

Alzheimers? That's a tough one, my dad went that way. Very sad to hear, prayers are with her.

I'm sorry to hear that.

could be....thing is, no one really knows what's wrong with her to this day. this is the most extreme I've heard of her getting yet, though she's after throwing furniture and such within the past while. but she's never been quite right as long as mom can remember, and she's basically made a serious effort to shut herself away from the world since about age 40, when my 10 year old mom had to start taking on most all the adult responsibilities of the house. she's 78 now and might as well be 8, if that, in a lot of ways. she's been extremely difficult to deal with in recent years and even her closest family can't handle being around her worth talking about anymore. rather sad.....

Thanks for the grill recommendations! I'll definitely keep them I mind. So far I've looked at Char-Broil and whatnot at Lowes and Home Depot and haven't really fallen in love with any of them. I do have my eye on a really nice Kenmore at Sears, despite the fact that I hate Sears (used to work there many moons ago, lol). I'll check the Weber grills out. I haven't seen any of them yet. Thanks!
