Where the heck is everybody? I'll take a stab:

* Bluejay is out mowing the lawn while his wife supervises him from her lawn chair on the front porch.

* Coy is at Wal-Mart buying more pool noodles since the ones installed in his garage have been flattened to the point of being useless.

* 281 is carting an inebriated relative from one side of town to the other. (Wish he'd take a picture -- these would be some classic shots!)

* Patman is trying to figure out what to do with the 4 parts that are left over from his massive re-build of a 2014 Land Rover. He eventually gives up, throws them in the glove box and calls it a day!

* Paw is out somewhere spending his children's inheritance.

* 88 is at Home Depot buying the supplies needed to turn his son's bedroom into a "pleasure den" for him and the missus!

Me? I'm out here working like a dog once again so I can pay for Bluejay and Paw's Social Security.....

Got the electric bill today, it doubled from last month. Thanjs to these 105 days and 80 degree nights. I know some people that keep their house at 68 degrees, can only imagine what those bills are. We keep ours at 75

I really appreciate the "working like a dog" to continue our social security!

And yes I was out spending my kid's inheritance.

Keep working!

Just paid my bill $228...hate to guess what this month's will be. Keep the AC on 75 and lower to 70 at night.

I don't know if I could get our house down to 68 with the weather we've been having here in Houston these past few weeks -- my unit runs almost continuously during the afternoon just to maintain 73, and the temperature will even spike a bit during the early evening hours when the wife and kid are coming-and-going out the doors and we are cooking in the kitchen.

I keep our thermostat set at 73 night-and-day and my bill came in at a shade over $400.00 last month for a 2300 SF house -- that's the highest bill I have had since we bought the home back in 2002. I'll be curious to see how much of a reduction my bill takes next summer after we've replaced our aging AC unit with a newer, more efficient model over the winter.

You know what they say -- you might make enough money to "buy" a Mercedes, but you never make enough money to "own" a Mercedes.......
