If it was like the little corner stores in East Texas, it had all kinds of candy for a penny each(in jars). Remember the candy called a drum stick? At least I think it was called that.


Googled it, it was called Chick-O-Stick.

I remember the candy in jars...they were everywhere. My grandfather had the grocery before I was born...he later turned it into an Auto-Lec store that was like a Western Auto. After he died it became a NAPA store in the 50's and 60's. On the site now is a small apartment complex that I pass by on a regular basis.
