At lunch, watched a little of the Mecum Auto Auction in Houston. Looked like some really good buys there. David, you should have been there!

I know! But it was surprising how low some of those cars went for. Everything from antiques, classics, trucks to newer cars. All special interest stuff. It's going till Sunday, so you can still make it.

I think the early days of those auctions are almost always the most interesting. The weekend days are all of the boutique cars that most normal human beings can't even think about owning -- Thursdays (and to a lesser extent, Fridays) have cars that are interesting, affordable, and in many ways, just as nice as the high-dollar cars.

Remember -- this is the guy who has a 4000-mile '87 LTD in his collection -- not your everyday collector car -- just something that is interesting because it is so unusual!

I saw fox body converts, immaculate, going for $5000. Saw a silver 2003 GT Mustang go for $10,000. Looked show room. A MB roadster, 2007 went for $8000. An 87 Lincoln town Car that looked spotless, $5000.

Sitting at the dealer, waiting on an oil change. This one is the 5th one and it's free.

Thats one thing i like about the owners advantage rewards. Every 5th is free and they add like 7 percent of what you pay on your account for other stuff. I had 46 dollars on it and used it when the dealer replaced the brake pads.

Also put 100 dollars for a new vehicle purchase. I'm up to 200 on that part. Maybe come 2017 if they have the 10 speeds available and New Gen Eb i can use it.

Does anyone know if the battery is covered under the factory 3yr/36,000 bumper to bumper warranty? I had a few guys tell me it is......I kind of have a hard time believing that. If it is I'm just going to take it to the dealer to replace.

Bumper to bumper yes. Or my dealer said it was.. still think it's bs that they put a mileage warranty on a battery. But if you "buy" a new battery they just go off the time and not mileage.

And don't expect a new battery just because the battery saver warning is showing on the radio or dash. They will still test and if it comes back good then your sol until it tests bad

Yes -- the battery on my 2009 Ford Ranger was covered by Ford under the 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
