SIL was suppose to come over around 12 for Christmas, she called the wife at 1130 and said I'm running late, I got a new car. We were both kinda shocked and the wife asked what it was, I didn't care just said yay I get the cavalier back. Anyway it's a 2017 Kia Forte, we asked how she pulled that off.. she said her boss gave it to her. She must've pulled a hell of a poor me. Last week he gave her his credit card to get her hair done for a Christmas present. Next week a new car. So yea I kinda have a idea what's going on but keeping it to myself

My son had a tablet he watches at night before bed, He left it in the floor 2 nights ago and stepped on it and shattered the glass. We got the office max warranty that covers breakage. I figured i would teach him a small lesson and tell him he needed to pay for it since he left it on the floor and stepped on it. I really didn't think he would think much of it.
He was serious and said how much is a tablet? I said 50 to 100 dollars depending how nice it is. He walked in the garage and said can i sell my power wheels jeep? I asked him why and he said to buy a nice tablet and that he never rode the jeep anymore. Told him it wasn't worth more than 50 bucks but if he wanted to he could. He told me yes. Ended up selling it for the 50 bucks and i gave it to him and office max sent us a reimbursement of 49 dollars for the broke tablet. He went to the store and picked out a Samsung Galaxy Tab A and it came to exactly what he had from selling his jeep and the reimbursement.
Kinda a proud moment that a 5 year old understood that mom and dad wasn't buying him a expensive tablet and took it up on himself to sell something of his to pay for it since he broke it.

Spent six out of the last eight days with the wife's side of the family -- thankfully, they packed up their cars and headed back to Dallas before I got home from my business trip this afternoon! In my family, Christmas is considered a "day" -- in the wife's family it's considered a "week".....
