We were delayed a week because of the stinking hurricane -- I want them to go a week longer at the end of the year so I get my week back.....

That's what they would do here lol

Looks like we are probably going to have some school cancellations at the beginning of next week. I'm in the middle of the state, but I'm sure we will feel something from it. Everyone is freaking out as if this doesn't happen every summer

i thought that then i looked at hurricane history and looks like Florida has not had a sizable one in 12 years. I might be wrong. Irma is looking like the real deal.

If I was in lower or mid Florida, i would be getting out. All the old timers tell me cat 2 or 3 , you can stay, cat 4 or 5 ..get out

No, you're quite right. We had a massive one in 2004. Out of power for two weeks. But since then they've been manageable. I'm already starting to eat my words a bit I suppose. Apparently this thing is 300 miles wide and they're considering making another category for it because it's so severe lol. So I guess I should give it some consideration. They cancelled school in our county for Friday and Monday, which means no work for me. I'm about an hour north of Orlando, so I might be far north enough to avoid it. I'm keeping my eye on it now.

I wish you the best of luck, don't take a chance unless you have to.

I am building a new home next year and i plan to equip it with back up generator and a safe room that will take a hurricane, but my plan will still be to get out of town on a cat 4 or more. at the very least i will send wife and kids away and stay at my business.

I've put Clear Bra's on two vehicles -- my '05 F-150 and the wife's '05 Escape. The one on the F-150 has stayed clear -- not surprising since it sits in the garage 99.9% of the time. The one on the Escape has discolored and cracked pretty badly. Two bits of advice would be to keep them waxed and don't let dead bugs sit on them for long as they tend to "etch" into the vinyl.

Finally broke down and bought a big a$$ (65") TV for football season! My previous set was an old tube-type that I bought in 1996, so I think I was due! I knew things were getting bad when even flophouse hotel rooms had better TV's than what I had at home.....

I backed out of it. Went there this AM and the owner said ive got my truck done, so you have an idea how it'll look. Walked out and said no thanks! That line would drive me nuts over the fenders and hood. Not sure what the next step is, really thinking about a old school bra for trips, but then it could still scrrw the paint up if it starts flapping

I think those old school bras cause more damage than they prevent. If you can't stomach the look of the clear bra, I'd just run it "naked" and re-spray the hood at some point if you need to.

It's much more expensive (even more than it already is) but you could have the entire panel wrapped (entire hood, fender, bumper)
