Thanks! Finally starting to warm up again down here. Had a few days in the 30s last week. No thanks!

Found the perfect truck in Austin. Literally exactly the way I would custom build one. Just gotta convince the wife it's a good idea

Your truck towed great, but I also don't have a comparison how much of that is 10spd and how much of that is EB......
Plus I've got my Raptor exhaust I'd plan to keep and move over to the 2018 if I go through with it
Toyota 4Runners have been catching my eye lately
The Highlander/Sienna/RX platform is a great safe chassis, with pretty solid reliability
The new Expedition/Navigator is very intriguing. Should be pretty reliable with a 3.5EB and 10spd behind it. But I think it might be a bit on the big side for a normal urban/suburb commuter vehicle. Unless you really had the need for 3 full sized rows of seats

Need opinions, folks.
The A/C compressor is going out in the truck. (Side note - this explains the weird burning smell coming from my air vents). I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but that job is a stretch for me. The shop told me it's a $900 job. This is a local guy I know personally who works exclusively on Fords, so I trust him. Additionally, I'm getting a grinding noise from the front end that I asked him to diagnose. I've already replaced pads and rotors twice since I've owned this truck, most recently about 8 months ago. Not sure if the grinding is brakes or possibly a bearing. Either way, that will have to be addressed as well.
I'm tossing around the idea of just trading the truck in. I've never been one to shy away from a little hard work, and I don't want it to seem like I'm hastily trading it in at the first sign of a significant issue, but I also feel like my confidence in the truck has been shaken a bit. Honestly, I don't feel like dealing with this stuff. Plus, the truck is not paid off - I still have 2 years left on it, so putting over $1,000 in it while I still have a payment doesn't sound so appealing. Truck has 80k miles.
What do you guys think I should do? My dad says I should fix it and carry on (typical dad advice lol). My wife is on board with trading it. I am on the fence. I want to make sure I am not just using this as an excuse to get a new truck lol.
Another thing, the newer trucks are so darn expensive. I don't know if I could get a newer one with the same features and configuration.
Thoughts?
